Bangladesh Under-19 team will be hoping to continue their winning momentum in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup when they face their Scottish counterparts in their second Group C match at Witrand Oval in Potchefstroom, South Africa today.

The Bangladesh boys began their campaign on January 18 with a crushing nine-wicket win by Duckworth and Lewis method against Zimbabwe, and are currently at the top of their four-team group with two points.

Parvez Hossain starred in the victory with an unbeaten 58 off 33 balls while Mahmudul Hasan (38 not out) and Tanzid Hasan (32) also supported the former with their blazing innings.

Pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, who took 1-28 in that match, was ecstatic after their dominating win in the first match and was confident that they would continue their winning run against Scotland today.

‘We always aim for victory. We played well in the last match. We will try to hold on to that momentum,’ Mrittunjoy told reporters on Monday.

‘We are feeling good after winning the first match. This World Cup comes once in every two years. A player usually can play in only one Under-19 World Cup. The first win was a good one. Everyone performed well in our team,’ he added.

Mrittunjoy further said that the team was confident about a victory against Scotland, who began their tournament with a seven-wicket defeat against Pakistan on January 19 after getting bowled out for a paltry 75.

‘We have not played against them yet, but I saw their batting yesterday [Sunday] in the ICC page. They didn’t play well. We are very hopeful as we are playing well,’ he said.
