Sixth ‘Band Fest’ today

Eighteen bands will entertain music lovers in Dhaka at a day-long concert titled ‘Band Fest’ scheduled to be held at Channel-i office in Tejgaon today.

This will be the sixth ‘Band Fest’ organised by Channel-i. The festival was introduced by late legendary singer, composer and guitarist Ayub Bachchu.

Bands like Feedback, Dalchhut, Shironamhin, Artcell, Tirandaj, Obscure, Joler Gaan and others will be preforming in the day-long event which will commence at 11:05am and conclude with performance of LRB, said speakers at a press conference held at Channel-i office on Saturday.

This year’s festival will be sponsored by Shwapno and Yamaha and powered by Nandan Park.

Director and head of news of Channel-i Shykh Seraj, executive director of Shwapno Sabbir Hasan Nasir, executive director of Yamaha Subrata Ranjan Das, chairman of Nandan group Bilal Haque, members of eighteen participating bands and others attended the press conference.

‘In the future editions of the festival we will introduce an award in memory of Ayub Bachchu, which will be presented annually to a band. The award winning band will get a crest, a certificate and prize money,’ said Shykh Seraj.

The  will be aired live on Channel-i and its official facebook page. Besides, Radio Bhumi will air the concert live.
