Senior journalist Aziz Ahmed Selim died of COVID-19 in Sylhet on Sunday night. He was 67.
Sylhet Press Club ex-president Selim, also the district correspondent of state-owned Bangladesh Television and chief editor of a regional daily Uttorpurbo, breathed his last at about 8:30pm on Sunday at Combined Military Hospital, Sylhet.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Sylhet on October 7 after being infected with coronavirus and was shifted to CMH in Sylhet on October 8 as his condition deteriorated.
Selim worked as acting editor of the daily Jughabhery.
He was buried at the graveyard of Hazrat Shahjalal Shrine in the city after a namaz-e-janaza held at the shrine mosque after Zuhr prayers.
Selim survived by his wife, three daughters and scores of relatives and well-wishers.
