Chattogram City Corporation administrator Mohammad Khorshed Alam Sujan exchanged views with the Horijan community members who work as cleaner of the city.

The programme was held in the CCC Abdus Sattar Auditorium at Andarkilla in the port city on Sunday morning, said a press release.

The administrator said that the team leaders of the Horijan workers would be selected as per better educational qualification while posting in supervisor posts would also follow the same rule.

The Horijan workers placed several demands, including temporary regularisation of door-to-door working cleaners, their housing allotment, retirement payment at a time, salary hike, raising death allowance to Tk 5 lakh from the existing 2 lakh and reserving 80 per cent cleaner job for them, among others.

Khorshed Alam Sujan assured them of considering the just demands.

The administrator’s personal secretary Mohammad Abul Hashem, acting chief cleaning officer Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Horijan leaders Mayarin Sardar, Ram Golam Sardar, Jagadish Das and others attended the programme.
