Jagannath University celebrated Pahela Phalgun organising a daylong festival on JnU campus on Sunday.

The festival was organised by the Bangla department of the university.

Jagannath University vice-chancellor Professor Mijanur Rahman inaugurated the event as chief guest around 11:30am.

‘Students must participate in cultural activities alongside their studies. Festivals help spread cultural awareness among students,’ said Professor Mijanur Rahman.

Chairperson of Bangla department Professor Previn Akter Jemi presided over the programme while JnU treasurer Professor Kamaluddin Ahmed, dean of arts faculty Professor Chanchal Kumar Bosh, teachers of Bangla department Professor Sabina Yasmin spoke at the event.

A large audience comprising students and teachers of different departments of JnU attended the festival.

The event featured music show, dance recitals, theatre, recitation and more.
