The Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Friday found decomposed bodies of a woman and her two children locked inside a house in the capital’s Dakkhin Khan.
Police are looking for the woman’s engineer husband Rakibuddin Bhuiyan, a sub-assistant engineer at a a government power supply agency.
The victims were identified as Munni Begum, 32, and her son Farhan Bhuiyan, 12, and daughter Naima Bhuiyan, 3.
They were living at the house for a decade.
Police officials said they spotted the bodies after the locals complained of bad odor coming out of the house.
‘We are looking for Munni’s husband. We suspect that she was hit with a hammer,’ said additional deputy commissioner Hafizur Rahman of Uttara Division of police.
He said they were killed at least three days ago as the bodies were decomposed. The crime scene unit is collecting evidence, he said.
Sub-inspector Maqsudul Kabir of Dakshinkhan Police Station said on information one of their teams rushed to the house at about 5:30pm.
In May 2019, a woman, her son and daughter were also found dead at their home nearby area.
