Natore man surrenders after ‘killing’ brother

A man surrendered to police on Tuesday night after allegedly killing his elder brother in Sadar upazila.

The accused is Shahjahan Ali, 40, and the deceased was Omar Faruque, 47, of Jongli village in the upazila.

Quoting locals, police said Shahjahan swooped on his elder brother Omar at a tea stall around 4:00pm.

He stabbed his brother with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured, said Kazi Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station.

He was first taken to Sadar Upazila Health Complex from where he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died from injuries around 1:000pm.

Later, Shahjahan went to sadar police station and surrendered to police.
