A three-day film festival featuring popular Bengali films began at the auditorium of Jagannath University on Sunday.
Professor Junayed Halim, chairman of film and television department, inaugurated the film event, titled ‘Amader Cinema’, which has been organised by Jagannath University Film Society (JnUPS).
The films will be screened from 9:00am to 1:30pm during the festival.
Three films namely Nasiruddin Yousuff’s ‘Alfa’, Razibul Hossain’s ‘Hridoyer Rangdhonu’ and Tauquir Ahmed’s ‘Fagun Hawai’ were screened on the opening day of the festival.
Rubaiyat Hossain’s ‘Under-Construction’ and Anto Azad’s ‘Ahoto Fuler Galpo’ will be screened today.
The festival will end on February 11. The concluding day will feature omnibus film ‘Eti Tomari Dhaka’ and Taneem Rahman Angshu’s ‘No Dorai’, a documentary film depicting women’s issues and a seminar named ‘How to be done an Indie Film: Director’s Statement’.
JnU vice-chancellor Professor Mizanur Rahman is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony as chief guest.
