Pakistan Under-19 team earned a 38-run win over their Zimbabwean counterparts in their Group C match, which sealed both Bangladesh and Pakistan’s spots in the quarter-finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa on Wednesday.
With the result, both Bangladesh and Pakistan have four points, while the remaining Group C teams, Zimbabwe and Scotland, were yet to gain a point.
The neighbouring countries will face-off in their final group phase match on January 24 to decide who will top the four-team group.
Fifties from Mohammad Harris (81), Qasim Akram (54) and Fahad Munir (53) propelled Pakistan to 294-9 after they were asked to bat first.
In reply, Zimbabwe reached 208-3 inside 39 overs before Tahir Hussain and Abbas Afridi claimed thee-wicket each to bowl them out for 256 in 46.3 overs.
