Industries minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday identified 16 main obstacles for not attracting local and foreign investment in the country, including problem in getting power and gas connections.
The minister said this in reply to a query of Awami League lawmaker Mozaffor Hossain in Jatiya Sangsad.
The other obstacles are - scarcity of adequate land for setting up factory, under developed infrastructure, not getting loan as per demand and on time, inadequate raw materials, problem in production of quality goods, shortage of competent manpower, problem in marketing of goods, shortage of experienced and knowledgeable entrepreneur, open economy market, uneven competition in the market, getting clearance certificate from different organisations, different types of taxation problem, policy related problem and high rate of bank interest.
The minister also said industries ministry as per the election manifesto of the present government had taken various measures to resolve the problems.
