Bangladesh Olympic Association facilitates SA Games medallists

Bangladesh Olympic Association on Monday accorded a reception for the SA Games medallists at the Kurmitola Golf Club, promising better facilities for the athletes for future meets.

The BOA also handed over the prize money to the medal winners during the reception programme.

Each individual gold medallist received Tk 6 lakh, silver medallist Tk 3 lakh and bronze medallist Tk one lakh for their success.

Each member of team gold medal received Tk 1 lakh as prize money while members of silver and bronze medallist teams received Tk 50,000 and Tk 30,000 respectively

BOA president and chief of Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed spoke as the chief guest during the event.

Karate player Marzan Akter Priya thanked the BOA on behalf of the athletes for their support.

Bangladesh secured a total of 142 medals in the SA Games in held in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal from December 1-10, 2019. Bangladesh’s record haul include 19 gold, 33 silver and 90 bronze medals.
