Two ‘JMB activists’ arrested in capital

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit arrested two suspected members of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh in Shonir Akhra area on Sunday night.

The arrested were identified as Jamal Uddin Rafik, 26, and Anowar Hossain, 25.

CTTC chief Md Monirul Islam said that the duo was arrested in connection with five bomb attacks in five areas, including Gulistan, Malibagh, Science Lab and Khamarbari, in the capital.

The attacks were carried out last year to demolish the morale of the law enforcers, he said.
