The Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday submitted charge sheet to a Dhaka court against its suspended director Khandaker Enamul Basir and suspended deputy inspector general of police Mizanur Rahman for exchanging Tk 40 lakh as bribe.

ACC director Sheikh Md Fanafillah submitted the charge sheet to the Dhaka Senior Special Judge Court on Sunday.

Senior special judge KM Imrul Kayes set February 9 for charge-framing hearing against the duo.

Earlier, on January 12, the ACC finalised bribery charges against Basir and Mizan after it found proof of bribery allegations against the duo beyond any doubt.

ACC director Sheikh Md Fanafillah filed the case against DIG Mizan and Bashir on July 16 last year.

On June 24, ACC director Manzur Morshed filed a case against DIG Mizan after investigating allegations of illegal wealth accumulation.

In the case, DIG Mizan and his nephew sub-inspector Mahmudul Hasan, both are in jail, were charged with amassing illegal assets worth over Tk 3.28 crore and hiding information on that.
