Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team played a thrilling tie against their Australian counterparts in their first warm up match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Pretoria, South Africa on Monday.
In the rain interrupted match, Shamim Hossain (59 not out), Towhid Hridoy (53) and Parvez Hossain (52) propelled Bangladesh to 250-6 in 43 overs.
In reply, Australia were bowled out for 250 in the last ball of the match with Corey Kelly hitting a blistering 44 while Shoriful Islam took 4-39 for Bangladesh.
Australia, after being reduced to 159-5 in 31.5 overs, bounced back in the contest with a 47-run sixth wicket stand between Kelly and Lachlan Hearne (41) before Shoriful dismissed the pair.
Australia then needed 11 off the last over and Tanveer Sangha (23) took nine off the first three balls off Shoriful. But the pacer then bowled a dot before dismissing Sangha in the penultimate ball. In the final ball, Todd Murphy took a single but was run out while going for the second, ending the match in tie.
