Mohammad Amir claimed record 6-17 after Nazmul Hossain struck unbeaten 78 off 57 balls as Khulna Tigers crushed Rajshahi Royals by 27 runs in the first qualifier to move into the final of Bangladesh Premier League in Mirpur on Monday.

Amir took four out of Rajshahi’s first six wickets to rattle their innings and reduced them to 33-6 before he removed Taijul Islam (12) and Shoaib Malik in his final over to achieve the best bowling figure in the BPL history.

Malik made highest 80 off 50 balls with 10 fours and four sixes and added a 74-run stand with Taijul but his effort went in vain as they were all out for 131 runs in 20 overs.

Earlier Nazmul followed his unbeaten hundred in the previous match to play another solid knock featuring seven fours and four sixes to guide Khulna to 158-3.

The left-hander got a lucky reprieve on nine when he was bowled by Malik in the sixth over but on-field umpire had to overturn the decision as Malik overstepped.

Shamsur Rahman scored 32 runs while Mushfiqur Rahim made 21 runs before retiring hurt to form the part of Rajshahi total.

Defeated Rajshahi will have another go to join Khulna in the final as they will face Chattogram Challengers in the second qualifier on Wednesday.
