Two members of banned extremist outfit held in Khulna

The Rapid Action Battalion arrested two suspected members of banned extremist outfit Allahr Dal raiding the Khulna Railway Station here on Sunday morning.

The arrested were identified as Moshiar Rahman, 52, son of late Altab Hossain, and Md Jahangir Alam, 47, son of Chandi Morol of village Santosnagar of Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive at the railway station and arrested the duo around 10:10am while they were waiting for train to return to Jashore, said a press release.

During primary interrogation, the arrested confessed that they had long been involved with the extremist outfit.

According to the press release, the duo came to Khulna for collecting money and recruiting activists.

RAB arrested five suspected members of the same extremist outfit in Labanchhara area of the city on December 29 last and three others in Baniakhamar area on December 3 last.
