Birangana Sannyasi Rani died from old age complications at Charghat Upazila Health Complex in Rajshahi on Saturday. She was 97.
Birangana Sannyasi Rani, born in an elite family, was among the women who were tortured and raped the Pakistani occupation forces during the 1971 liberation war.
Pakistani forces killed her father, husband and brother and took her to their camp and tortured her.
She was cremated at Charghat Central Cremation Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Women rights organisation Naripakkha expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sannyasi Rani, said a press release of the organisation.
As she was not recognised as Birangana freedom fighter, she was not given state honour before her body was cremated, said the release.
Naripakkha was providing allowances to 53 such Biranganas including Sannyasi, it said.
Sannyasi Rani was the second child of late Kishori Chandra Shaha and late Ganga Rani.
