Muktodhara pays tribute to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Recitation troupe Muktodhara Sangskriti Charcha Kendra paid tribute to country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by dedicating a recitation production ‘Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita’ to him at a programme held at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Sufia Kamal National Public Library on Friday.

The production, which was premiered at the event, is based on the book Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita written by prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

The production comprises excerpts from various books penned by leading writers and poets, video of historic March 7 speech given by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, songs, letters written by Mujib and others.

The production contains excerpts from Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita, Rabindranath Tagore’s Banglar Mati Banglar Jol, Sarkar Amin’s Mrityudanda Karjokor Korar Agey, Haralal Roy’s Durga banao ghorey ghorey, Mahadev Saha’s Tomar Bari, Syed Shamsul Huq’s Ay Chelera Ay Meyera and Muchey Phelo Michey Ashro Tomar, Jasimuddin’s Muktijoddha and others.

It also contains songs like Muktir mandir shopanotale, Shono ekti mujiburer theke, Bangabandhu phire ele, Barish dhora majhey shantir bari, Tai tomar ananda amar por and Amar shonar bangla and letters penned by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mujib’s father, Fazilatunnesa and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy.

The production has been compiled and directed by Rezina Wali Lina.

Besides, Muktodhara launched its year-long celebration programme, marking its 30th founding anniversary, on Friday which was inaugurated by Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus.
