An evening with Tagore’s poems

Artistes of recitation troupe Swarachito entertained the audience reciting popular poems penned by Noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Sufia Kamal National Public Library on Thursday.

Artistes recited Tagore’s poems addressing diverse issues like human relationship, devotion, nature and others.

Mariam Shipu recited Nirbhoy, Rabeya Sultana recited Protikkhaa, Anirban Debonath recited Chutir Ayojon and Orpita Roy recited Daymochon.

Besides, Mohidul Islam, Tayaba Monir, ATM Aslam, Rumi Khan, Araj mun, Nasrin Akter, Tahmina Akter, Noor Ahmed, Shamima, Salina, Shohag, Nusrat Jahan, Abdul Halim, Mahidul Islam, Faruq Ahmed, Trina Farhana, Kazi Sajib, Khairuzzaman and others presented Tagore’s poems at the programme.

‘The new year marks the beginning of a new journey for all of us. Today’s programme marks the start of a new journey for Swarachito. I hope the audience found today’s programme entertaining,’ Shawon, a member of Swarachito, told the New Age.
