Language Movement songs presented

Popular songs glorifying the historic language movement were presented at the Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
Artistes of Jagoron Sangskriti Charcha and Gobeshona Kendra performed at the programme organised by Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad as part of its monthly programme to inspire audience to watch music shows buying tickets.
The show began with a chorus presentation of Amar Bhai-er Rakte Rangano—the signature song of the International Mothers Language Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow.
The chorus also presented two more songs glorifying the language movement titled ‘Bhulbona Bhulbona Se Ekush’ and ‘Rakto Shimul Tapta Palash’.
Sanjida Sultana rendered people’s song Ebar Tor Mora Gang-e Jol Esechhe while Debashish Deb presented another people’s song Maago Bhabna Keno.
Mehnaz Afrin, Banani Dey, Shahid Kabir Polash, Bijan Misry respectively sang people’s songs such as Bhebonako Ma Tomar Chhelera, Je Matir Buke Ghumiye Achhe, Jekhane Matir Dawai and Sanjher Belai.
The show ended with chorus presentations of patriotic songs such as Muktiro Mondiro Sopano Tole and Dhano Dhanno Pushpe Bhora.
Earlier, Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad general secretary Bishwajit Roy delivered a welcome speech.
The good number of viewers enjoyed the show. ‘I enjoyed the popular songs presented by the quality singers,’ said Sukanto Shekher Modak, a businessman, who enjoyed the show.
