Sammilito Samajik Andolon celebrated the Victory Day organising a programme in front of the Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh on Friday.

Sammilito Samajik Andolon general secretary Saleh Ahmed gave the welcome speech at the programme, titled ‘Ganney Kothay Muktijuddho’, presided over by SSA President Ziauddin Tarek Ali.

Anandan artistes commenced the show rendering the national anthem.

Following which, they rendered songs that were aired on Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the tumultuous days of the liberation war like Amra shobai bangali, Amar duchokh bhora swapno shudhu tomari jonno, Joy bangla banglar joy, Teer hara ei dheu er sagor pari debo rey, shomoy boye jay and others.

In solos, Mowrin Sanjana Jahan, Ishrat Adiba, Mashfiqa Akter Mala, Mahmud Selim, Tapan de- Costa and others rendered patriotic songs.

Renowned dance exponent Laila Hasan, NAP president Pankaj Bhattacharya, Dhaka University professor Azizur Rahman Khan and others were present at the programme.

Besides, Sammilito Samajik Andolon central member Dr Selu Basit read a statement criticising religious bigotry, extremism, drug addiction, corruption, social anomalies, inequity and others.
