Children with special needs entertained the audience at a cultural show held in Sylhet on Friday afternoon.
Sylhet District Shilpakala Academy organised the programme at Muktamancha of Kabi Nazrul Auditorium at Rikabibazar in the city marking International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019.
The programme featured performances by children with special needs from Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar and Habiganj.
Deputy commissioner of Sylhet Kazi Emdadul Islam, Sylhet Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Faysal Mahmud, Sylhet district press club president Tapos Dash Purkayastha, theatre activist Shakhawat Ali Shah, Blooming Roses Buddhi Pratibandi o Autistic Bidyalaya director DD Roy Bablu, Green Disable Foundation director Bayazid Khan, Sylhet Buddhi Pratibandi O Autistic Bidyalaya principal Suraiya Nasrin and Shahjalal RR Pratibandhi Institute director Happy Rani Dey, among others, addressed the inaugural session of the programme as guests.
District cultural officer Asit Baran Dash Gupta presided over the programme.
Students of Green Disable Foundation, School of Gifted Children, Shahjalal RR Buddhi Pratibandi o Autistic Bidyalaya and Moulvibazar’s Blooming Roses Buddhi Pratibandi O Autistic Bidyalaya entertained the audience at the programme performing songs, dance recitals and others.
Following the cultural show, the organisers distributed certificates and gifts among the participants.
