Police on Wednesday filed charge sheet in a case lodged under Narcotics Control Act against M Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, director in-charge of Mohammedan Sporting Club.
Investigation officer and Detective Branch of police inspector Md Abdul Matin filed the charge sheet before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud Ur Rahman.
The court after receiving the charge sheet transferred the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court for further proceedings.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion-2 arrested Lokman, also a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, from his Tejgaon Monipuripara house on the night of September 25 for running casino by renting a part of the club. RAB also recovered four bottles of foreign liquor from his home.
The elite agency filed a case against him with Tejgaon police station under Narcotics Control Act and handed him over to the police on September 26.
RAB sources said Lokman in the primary interrogation confessed earning crores from the casino in Mohammedan Club and deposited the money in two Australian bank accounts.
Anti-Corruption Commission on October 27 filed a case against Lokman for acquiring illegal wealth of Tk 4.34 crore.
