A documentary portraying journey of renowned theatre director-academic Syed Jamil Ahmed was screened at seminar room of Liberation War Museum on the ninth day of ‘Bottala Rangomela 2019’, an international theatre festival organised by theatre troupe Bottala, on Sunday.

The documentary titled ‘The Conjurer’ has been directed by Kazi Ruksana Ruma. The screening was followed by a discussion attended by Kazi Ruksana Ruma,  Ashish Goswami and Reza Arif.

Folk singer Madol and his troupe entertained the audience presenting songs on Liberation War Museum premises.

Besides, Bottala honoured Khulna-based theatre activist Rohani Begum for her contribution to theatre scene.

West Bengal-based Indian theatre troupe Sukhchar Pancham Repertory Theatre staged ‘Acharya Prafulla Chandra’ at the Main Hall of the museum.

The play, based on eminent chemist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy’s life and works, has been directed by Maloy Mitra.

The festival will end today.
