India hosts artificial limb fitment camp in Dhaka

The high commission of India in Dhaka is holding a medical camp titled Jaipur Foot Artificial Limb Fitment Camp at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation in Dhaka.

The camp, organised by Indian high commission in Dhaka, in association with the NITOR and Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society, started on September 28 and would continue till November 4, said a press release on Thursday.

India for Humanity has taken the initiative marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Around 500 amputees across Bangladesh will be benefitted by this camp.

The event was jointly inaugurated by Md Ashadul Islam, secretary of Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Bangladesh; and Riva Ganguly Das, Indian high commissioner in Dhaka, on Thursday, October 17, at NITOR, the press release said.

A team of eight experts from Bhagwan Mahaveer Vikalang Sahayata Samiti was conducting the 42-day camp, it added.
