Bangladeshi mime artiste Tanvir Sheikh is going to participate in an upcoming mime festival scheduled to be held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Thailand.
Tanvir, the founder and chief editor of Blackflame Theatre, will be representing his troupe at the festival titled ‘Rebel Live Action Eco-Art’, which will be held from October 14 to 18.
Tanvir will stage a mime production named ‘The Blind Perspective’. He will also present a visual report titled ‘Contemporary Drama and Contempt for Silence in Bangladesh’ and hold a special drama workshop titled ‘Mime for Storytelling’ at the festival.
‘I have been pursuing theatre for the past six years. I have participated in many festivals at both home and abroad. My troupe has produced several mime productions. We will premiere our new production titled ‘Dream Theatre’ on November 26,’ said Tanvir Sheikh.
The upcoming ‘Rebel Live Action Eco-Art’ will feature performances by mime artistes from various countries including Bangladesh, Thailand, Poland, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Taiwan, South Africa, Chile, Ireland and Mexico.
It will be organised by Thailand-based theatre company Rebel Art Space.
