BARI holds workshop on development of potato

The Tuber Crops Research Centre of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute organised a workshop on field-level expansion of improved varieties of potato and vitamin-enriched sweet potatoes at the institute in Gazipur on Thursday.

The institute director general Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Its Tuber Crops Research Centre director AKM Shamsul Haque chaired the workshop while director (research) Md Abdul Wohab, director (support services) Babu Lal Nag, director (training and communication) Md Miaruddin, director (planning and evaluation) Md Habibur Rahman Sheikh, Horticultural Research Centre director Abeda Khatun and Oilseed Research Centre director Dilafroza Khanam were present as special guests. Tuber Crops Research Centre principal scientific officer and project director Haridas Chandra Mohanta presented a keynote paper at the workshop.

Scientists from different divisions of BARI, representatives from Department of Agricultural Extension, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation and farmers participated in the workshop, said a release.
