IPDC Finance Limited and Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society on Tuesday launched the second edition of Bangladesh Supply Chain Excellence Awards to recognise individual and organisational contribution to advancement of supply chain knowledge and practices across the industries in the country.
IPDC Finance in association with Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society organised a press conference in Dhaka on the day to launch the IPDC BSCMS Bangladesh Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2019.
Awardees will be recognised on the basis of their high impact contribution in 2018 in various areas of supply chain management in manufacturing and service organisations, officials said.
IPDC Finance managing director and chief executive officer Mominul Islam said they were working together to improve the supply chain ecosystem in the country.
For the country’s hope of graduating to a middle-income nation, there is no way giving less importance to the improvement of supply chain, he said.
‘We have always believed in mutually beneficial partnership to leverage activity, experience and resource and to propagate and accredit the best practices in supply chain management across industries,’ Mominul said.
Bangladesh Supply Chain Management Society president Naquib Khan said, ‘The success of any business, amid fierce competition and global challenges, is inextricably linked to the performance of its supply chain.’
Supply chain professionals, young professionals and business organisations will be invited to participate in the programme by submitting their achievement cases that ran in the year 2018, Naquib said.
The deadline for submitting the nomination along with the cases is October 24, 2019 and the BSCEA-2019 ceremony will be held at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on November 28, 2019, he said.
The BSCEA-2019 will be given in 11 categories that include supply chain collaboration and partnering, supply chain talent development, manufacturing excellence, supply chain finance management, logistics and transportation management , supply chain planning process, technology as supply chain enabler, supply chain sustainability, young supply chain talent of the year, supply chain professional of the year, and customer service, warehousing and distribution.
The jury panel will select 25 best cases as winners of the supply chain excellence award 2019.
Awardees will receive crest and certiﬁcate as recognition.
International Supply Chain Education Alliance Bangladesh will be the knowledge partner for the event.
Ejazur Rahman, chief executive officer of ISCEA Asia said, ‘SCM plays an integral part of a firm’s success. Efficiently running supply chains allows firms to quickly deliver products to the end-user for a low cost.’
