Different cultural organisations will observe the 43rd death anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam today through diverse programmes.
Representatives of different organisations and institutes, family members and others will pay tribute to the poet by placing flower wreaths at his grave at Dhaka University Mosque in early morning.
Officials of Nazrul Institute will place floral wreath at the grave of Nazrul. Besides, the institute will arrange a commemorative programme on the poet in the afternoon at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum.
The programme will feature a discussion and vibrant cultural show.
Vice chancellor of Dhaka University Akhtaruzzaman will place floral wreath on the grave of the poet in the morning. Following which, a discussion will be held beside the grave.
Bangla Academy will place floral wreaths at the grave of the poet in the morning. The academy will organise a solo lecture titled ‘Nazruler Bidroho: Rajniti, Arthoniti O Dharmey’ at its Poet Shamsur Rahman Seminar Room at 4:00pm.
Professor Mohit Ul Alam will deliver a solo lecture while national professor Anisuzzaman will preside over the event.
Bangla Academy director general Habibullah Siraji will give the welcome speech.
Following the discussion, renowned Nazrul singers will render popular Nazrul songs and artistes will entertain the audience reciting poems.
Cultural Organisation Chhayanaut will organise a programme marking Kazi Nazrul Islam’s 43rd death anniversary on Saturday at its auditorium.
Besides , BTV, Bangladesh Betar and other private television channels and radio stations will telecast special shows marking the day.
