At least 10 passengers were injured following derailment of a train near Gaffargaon rail station in Mymensingh on Tuesday.
Rail communications between Dhaka and Dewanganj was snapped for about an hour following the accident.
Witnesses said that the last bogie, a goods-laden wagon, of Bhawal Express derailed in the Gafargaon station area around 8:00am.
Panicked passengers tried to get down hurriedly from the other compartments of the running train, leaving 10 of them injured.
Gafargaon station master Masudur Rahman Masum said the accident occurred despite the rail line was clear.
Bangladesh Railway’s senior deputy assistant engineer (Gafargaon) Md Rezaul Karim said they formed a four-member committee to investigate into the incident.
