Lalmonirhat District clinched the title of the maiden BFF-UNICEF Under-16 National Women’s Championship with a 4-0 win over Magura District in the final at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Saturday.
Liva Akter, who finished as the top scorer of the tournament with 16 goals, struck a hat-trick for the winners by scoring in the 56th, 59th and 69th minutes respectively after Shantona Khatun opened the account in the 38th minute.
Moonki Akter of Lalmonirhat was adjudged as the most valuable player of the tournament while goalkeeper Golapi Akter of the same team became the most promising player.
Lalmonirhat moved in the final after defeating Rajshahi by 6-0 goals in the first semi-final while Magura outclassed Mymensingh by 7-0 goals in the other semi-final at the same venue on Friday.
