
Mamun Hussain
Writer Mamun Hussain has been named the winner of Ranjit Puraskar 2019 for his contribution to Bengali literature, said a press release.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Narayanganj Press Club on Saturday.
Shruti Shangskritik Academy, a Narayanganj-based literary organisation will present award on August 2 at Ali Ahmed Chunka Library Auditorium, Narayanganj.
‘The award recipient will receive a crest, certificate and prize money,’ said director of Shruti Shangskritik Academy Diman Saha Juwel.
The award will be handed over at an awards programme scheduled to be held
Shruti Shangskritik Academy president Abdur Rahman and its member poet Kajal Kanan were present among others at the press conference.
Al Mamun was born on March 4, 1962 in Kushtia. His first story book Shanto Shontrasher Chadmari was published in 1995.
He has written around 19 books comprising novels, stories, essays and others till date.
