2 books of Hasan Mahmud launched

The second editions of two poetry books penned by Hasan Mahmud namely Jedikey Takai Upukul and Chokher Moto Chinhoguli were launched at a programme held at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.

The books, which feature poems addressing environment, social anomalies, struggles of people living in the coastal areas and more, were launched at a programme, titled ‘Duragoto Madoler Dhoni’, organised by cultural organisation Swapnakuri.

The organisation arranged the event marking the 52nd birthday of Hasan Mahmud, also the president of Swapnakuri.

The book Jedikey Takai Upakul has been dedicated to Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani while Chokher Moddhe Chinhagula has been dedicated to Kamal Lohani.

Artistes entertained the audience by presenting songs, dance recitals and recitation at the programme.

Poet Kamal Chowdhury was present as the chief guest while Bangla Academy director general Habibullah Sirajee, poet Mohammad Nurul Huda and others were present as special guests.

The programme commenced with a flute recital by flautist Gazi Abdul Hakim.

Besides, singers Mahmuda Anjum Bristi, Bindia Khan and Miraz Mehedi rendered songs, Anonanya Owafi Rahman recited the poems and child artistes of Swapnakuri presented dance recitals.
