The bodies of four more people apparently of the fishing boat that capsized and drowned in the Bay of Bengal a couple of days ago were found on Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Thursday night and Friday morning.
With the latest recovery of the bodies, a total of 10 bodies of the damaged fishing boat of Bhola could be recovered and two persons were rescued alive.
As a result, two people out of 14 of the finishing boat that went to the bay on July 7 ignoring the rough weather are still missing.
Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, additional superintendent of Cox’s Bazar police, said that three bodies of the missing fishermen were recovered from Somitypara of Cox’s Bazar municipal area point of the sea beach, Howanok coast of Moheskhali and Himchari point at Ramu on Thursday at about 10:00pm.
The other body was found at Kalatoli sea beach at Cox’s Bazar at about 11:00am on Friday, said Cox’s Bazar sadar police station officer-in-charge Farid Uddin Khandakar.
Earlier on July 10, six bodies of missing fishermen were found at Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Bay of Bengal on July 10th last.
Two seriously injured fishermen were rescued and taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. They were Jewel, 17, son of Wazed Uddin and Monir, 38, son of Makbul Ahmed, both from Char Fashion area of Bhola.
Monir and Jewel told the Cox’s Bazar police that a total of 14 fishermen from Char Fashion went on fishing ignoring rough weather.
At one stage their boat capsized and drowned and all of them tried to keep themselves floating in the bay wearing life jackets and other materials.
They were washed ashore two days later and were taken to the hospital, said the fishermen.
Cox’s Bazar ASP Iqbal Hossain told New Age that seven out of the 10 dead fishermen are Kamal Hosen, 35, son of Tarif Mazhi, Oli Ullah, 40, son of Noor Mazhi, Azi Ullah, 35, son of Fazo Hawladar, Mohammad Masud, 38, son of Abdul Hoque, Babul Mia, 30, son of Sahidul Islam, Jahangir Alam, 36, son of Nazib Islam, Shamsuddin Patwari, 45, son of Asman Patwari of Charfashion under Bhola.
