Gambian forward Ebou Kanteh scored the winner as Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Arambagh Krira Sangha by a solitary goal in their Bangladesh Premier League match at the Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Thursday.
In the day’s other match in Dhaka, Chattogram Abahani were held to a 1-1 draw by Brothers Union at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In Mymensingh, Kanteh scored for Jamal in the stoppage time of the first half with a right-footed drive from just outside the box after receiving a cross from compatriot Emil Sambou.
With the result, Sheikh Jamal remained in sixth place of the table with 21 points from 17 outings while Arambagh remained in fourth place with 23 points from the same number of outings.
At the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Nigerian forward Nkwocha Kingsley gave Chattogram Abahani the lead in the 21st minute before midfielder Mostakim Shahriar scored the equaliser for Brothers in the 83rd minute.
With the stalemate, Brothers moved up one step to secure the 11th place in the table with 12 points from 16 matches while Chattogram Abahani remained on their previous seventh place with 18 points from 17 matches.
