Man trampled by elephants at Ramu

An elderly man was trampled to death by wild elephants at North Sagoliakata of Rajarkhool union under Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district at about 11:00pm on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Hasan Ali, 62, a resident of the same area.

Quoting witness, Towhidul Islam, Rajarkhool forest range officer of Cox’s Bazar South Forest Division, said three wild elephants entered the homestead of Hasan for eating jackfruit.

Hasan Ali tried to resist the wild elephants, but was trampled by them and died on the spot.
