PCJSS (MN Larma) activist shot dead at Langadu

Unidentified assailants shot an activist of Parbatya Chattogram Jana Sanghati Samity (MN Larma) to death at Uttar Yearengchari in Langadu of Rangamati on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Snehashish Chakma alias Bhhagyadhan, 40, of Baghaihat in Baghaichari in the district.
Quoting local people, Atharakchara union council chairman Mangal Kanti Chakma said that Snehashish Chakma was coming from Dighinala to Uttar Yearengchari. The attackers opened fire on him waylaying him midway leaving him dead on the spot.
Locals said that Snehashish was an active member of PCJSS (MN Larma). He was going to stay at a house at Uttar Yearenchari for the night.
PCJSS (MN Larma) information and publicity secretary Prashanta Chakma held PCJSS led by Santu Larma responsible for the
PCJSS Langadu upazila unit general secretary Moni Shankar said their party was not involved in any kind of violence. The attack might be a sequel to their internal conflicts, he said.
Langadu police officer-in-charge Ranjan Kumar Samanta said Snehashish was shot dead late in the night of Wednesday.
As the place of occurrence was in a remote area, police recovered the body on Thursday morning and sent it to Rangamati General Hospital for autopsy, he said.
Identities of the attackers are yet to be known and it was under investigation, he added.
