Good news for fans of Chirkutt. The popular fusion band is going to release a new song on Eid-ul-Fitr.
The song, penned and tuned by vocalist of the band Sharmin Sultana Shumi, will be released on a digital platform.
‘I do not want to disclose anything about the song right now. As we will release the song on the occasion of Eid, I want it to be a surprise for our fans,’ said Shumi, adding that her band won’t release any album this year.
‘We are not thinking about releasing any album this year. We are busy recording playback songs for the upcoming films namely Dahakal, Beauty Circus and Eti Tomar Dhaka,’ she added.
The band has rendered playback songs for films like Aynabaji, Doob, Television and others.
Besides, Chirkutt is looking forward to performing in the USA.
‘We will be performing in concerts in the USA soon. We have previously performed in countries like United Kingdom, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Australia,’ said Sumi.
Chirkutt’s current line-up comprises Emon Chowdhury (guitar), Pavel Areen (drums), Sharmin Sultana Sumi (vocal), Didar (bass) and Nirab (keyboard).
The band has been performing since 2002. In the last three years, the band got huge response for its songs like Duniya, Kanamchhi, Ahare Jibon and others.
The band also bagged the Channel-i Music Award 2018 in the best playback music category for the song Ahare jiban, which was recorded for Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s film Doob.
