Mobile fair on Muktijuddha books in Meherpur

A mobile book fair on books on the war of independence began in Meherpur on Tuesday.

Shraban Prakashani and online portal on books Boi News jointly organising the mobile fair as part of reaching out the books on independence war to remote nooks of the country, said a release.

State minister for public administration Farhad Hossain inaugurated the fair in front of  the deputy commissioner’s office in Meherpur town around noon. Meherpur deputy commissioner M Ataul Gani was also present on the occasion. 

More than five hundred titles on the war of independence are being displayed and sold at the mobile book fair till.

The mobile fair will be at Mujibnagar, where Bangladesh’s government in exile took oath on April 17, 1971, on Wednesday and it will roam around educational institutions in Meherpur on Thursday, said  Shraban Prakashani publisher Robin Ahsan.

He said they began the mobile book fair on a specially made pick-up van on December 8, 2018 and has aims to reach the readers at remote nooks of the country.  It will continue till March 31, 2019, he said.

The cabinet division and the Liberation War Museum have extended their cooperation to organise the mobile fair. New Age is also a media partner of the fair.
