Kite festival held in Manikganj

A kite festival was held on the bank of Jamuna river in Manikganj on Sunday afternoon marking Pahela Baishakh. Shibalaya Shotodol Cultural and Social Organisation arranged the festival.
Around two hundred and sixteen kinds of kites namely Koira Ghuddi, Potinga Ghuddi, Chila Ghuddi, Dol Ghuddi, Baj Ghuddi, Sapa Ghuddi, Projapati Ghuddi, Moyur Ghuddi, Chyakmukha Ghuddi, Phul Ghuddi, Boat Ghuddi and others were flown by locals.
Around twenty thousand people enjoyed the event.
Kite flyers Wajed Ali Master, Al Amin Hossain, Amjad Hossain, Lokman Mollah, Aminul Islam, Abul Kalam Ajad, Farid Hossain and Rakib Hossain received special prizes.
Md. Habibur Rahman, president of Shotodal Cultural and Social Organisation, presided over a discussion where Abdur Rahim Khan, former chairman of Shibalaya Upazila, Abdul Kuddus, panel chairman Manikganj Zila Parishad and others were
present.
