Four injured in Cox’s Bazar UZ polls clash

At least four people sustained bullet injuries in a clash centring the ongoing upazila elections near a polling centre in Mognama union of Pekua upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday morning.

The injured are Abul Hossain, Sadek, Bodi and Ramiz.

A chase and counter chase took place at around 9:00am near Dakhkhin Mognama Government Primary School centre, said assistant sub-inspector Nur Islam of Pekua police.

Presiding officer Osman Goni said that they had heard that a clash took place between two groups outside the centre.

Immediately after the incident, voters queued to cast vote left the station, he said adding that high officials of the election commission were informed about the incident.
