Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim on Saturday said that the Awami League-led alliance would create a social movement against the anarchy on roads and highways.
‘A social movement will be created against the anarchy on the roads and highways, drug abuse and child repression,’ he said while speaking at a meeting at a National Press Club auditorium in Dhaka.
The Bangabandhu Academy organised the meeting to mark the sixth death anniversary of former president and one of the organisers of liberation war Zillur Rahman with its president Nazmul Haque in the chair.
The AL-led alliance spokesperson said, ‘People are being killed on the roads one after another. The prime minister has also issued directives to address this issue. It was discussed in parliament and some decisions were taken. Those decisions would have to be implemented now.’
He said that the alliance would create a social movement against this anarchy, drug abuse and child repression across the country.
AL advisory council members Yousuf Humayun and Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and AL leader MA Karim, among others, addressed the meeting.
