Chhayanaut celebrates spring thru songs, dances

Artistes of Chhayanaut celebrated spring through songs and dances at a programme held at Chhayanaut Auditorium on Friday.
Artistes entertained the audience rendering songs depicting the beauty of spring season penned by Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam while dancers presented colourful recitals synchronised with the songs.
The programme, titled ‘Basanter Onusthan 1425’, commenced with a dance recital synchronised with the Tagore song Aaji dakhino duar kholo.
Following which, singer Sanchari Adhikary rendered a Tagore song Aaj
shobar ronge ronge mishatey hobey.
In solos, Sharbin Khandakar rendered Tagore song Akash amay bhorlo aloy, Kowshik Saha rendered Nazrul song Notun patar nupur baje, Arpita Sarkar sang Tagore song Ora okarone chanchal, Samudra Shubhom rendered Nazrul song Ashey basanta phulobone, Tasnia Ashraf rendered Tagore song Ei moumachider ghrachara korechey kay and Songhita Dhali Kheya sang Tagore song Ore grihabashi khol dwar khol.
In duets, Sushmita Misti Dutta and Tashfia Ahmed Atri rendered popular Tagore song Orey bhai phagune agun legechey boney boney and Shownak Debnath and Tasifuzzaman Ananta sang Tagore song Basanta ki shudhu kebol, among others.
Artistes presented dance recitals synchronised with the songs like Phagun haway haway, Shob dibi ke, Rangiye diye jao and others.
A houseful audience enjoyed the show.
‘I thank Chhayanaut for organising such an event featuring songs of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, both of whom have penned timeless songs depicting the seasons of Bengal,’ Pavel Khan, an audience member, told New Age.
