The Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday approved two separate charge sheets against former Bangladesh Nationalist Party lawmaker Mohammad Mosaddak Ali and his wife Mahbuba Sultana in two cases filed on charges of alleged amassing of illegal wealth and concealing asset information.
The ACC approved the chare sheets against the couple at the commission’s regular meeting held at its Segunbagicha headquarters in the capital, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.
On May 15, 2017, the commission filed a case against Mosaddak, also chairman and managing director of a private television channel NTV, with Ramna police on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth around Tk 17.86 crore from beyond known sources of income.
He said that the BNP leader allegedly concealed information about his wealth in the wealth details submitted with the commission.
Beside, the commission filed another corruption case in August of the same year against Mahbuba Sultana on charges of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing information of wealth worth around Tk 3.93 crore.
