Robbery case convict killed in ‘gunfight’

A robbery case convict, arrested earlier, was killed in ‘gunfight’ during a ‘police raid to recover drugs and illegal firearms’ at Paschim Baroikhali, Srinagar, Munshiganj on early Saturday.
The latest casualty raised the death toll in the ongoing anti-drug drive to 275 since May 15.
Deceased Md Tajel, 36, was accompanying the police during the raid.
Son of Deen Islam of Rudrapara, Srinagar, Munshiganj Tajel was sentenced to seven-year term and became a fugitive and was rearrested on Friday morning, police said.
