A book titled ‘Dui Barna’, mostly comprising Facebook articles on different topics, has been unveiled in the port city Chittagong.
The book, written by divisional commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Abdul Mannan, has been published by Pathak Samabesh.
There are 20 articles on various topics like train, math, ‘mukti’ and ‘Halda’ in the book Dui Barna (two letters).
The book launching ceremony was held at the city’s Alliance Francaise Chittagong on Monday night.
Addressing the launching ceremony, advisory editor of Daily Amader Samay Abul Momen said that the writer’s literary approach would definitely attract the readers.
The writer said that whenever he wrote any article on Facebook, readers appreciated it, which inspired him to compile the artless into a book.
Alliance Francaise Chittagong director Selvam Thorez said that this was a wonderful book written by a person performing very important role for the country.
Writer Satyabrata Barua claimed that it was the country’s first book to have its origin in Facebook.
Editor of Ekushey Patrika Azad Talukder said that the language of this book was very lucid and the topics were on either contemporary issues or reminiscences.
Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Elius Hossain and Alliance Francaise deputy director Gurupada Chakroborty were present among others in the book launching ceremony.
Assistant commissioner (land) Kattali Sheikh Jubair Ahmed read out the preface of the book in the ceremony.
