Robbery in Savar, housewife ‘violated’

Robbers looted valuables from four houses in Razfulbaria area in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, and violated a housewife early Sunday.

The victim’s family members said a gang of robbers numbering 15/16 stormed in the house of Mahinur Islam where four families live.

The robbers tied up the men of the families with rope at gunpoint around 4:00am, they said.

Later, the gang looted cash worth Tk 50,000, several tolas of gold, three auto-rickshaws, numbers of TV and mobile phone sets.

Being obstructed, the robbers allegedly violated a housewife and tried to violate a garment worker as well.

Besides, eight people were injured in the attack.

On information, police visited the spot, said Mohsinul Kadir, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.
