Baul singer Kangalini Sufia on Friday fell off the stage at two-day Baul song festival (Baul Mela) at Chheuria of Kumarkhali in Kushtia and broke her left hand, said doctors and her family members.
Baul Shekhom, the husband of the 70-year old singer, told New Age that Sufia fell off the stage at about 7:15pm when she was boarding on it.
The officials of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, who organised the festival, immediately rushed her to Kushtia General Hospital.
The X-ray report showed Sufia broke her left hand, said hospital’s resident medical officer Tapos Sarkar.
Sufia performed on Thursday, the opening day of the two-day Baul Mela.
The Mela is scheduled to end midnight past Friday.
