Jamuna Bank Foundation has initiated a medical camp for underprivileged residents at Raipura upazila in Narsingdi for the first time at the private level after liberation.
The medical camp was inaugurated at the Char Madhua Govtnment Primary School grounds where 4,000 patients received free eye, gynea, peadiatric, diabetes and general medical care and free medicines, said a press release. The release also said that 320 eye patients were selected for surgery at the camp.
Jamuna Bank Foundation chairman Al-Haj Nur Mohammed as chief guest inaugurated the camp while Jamuna Bank managing director and CEO Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed presided over the programme.
Bank’s deputy managing director Md Abdus Salam and local social worker Ahsan Sikder were present at the programme as special guests. Other senior officials of the bank and local dignitaries were also present at the event.
Following the event, the foundation chairman and bank’s managing director inaugurated a month-long tree plantation programme.
