Top Bangladeshi archer Ruman Shana moved into the second round of the Archery World Cup stage-two men’s recurve individual event after getting a bye in the first round in Lausanne, Switzerland on Tuesday.
Before getting a bye in the first round, Shana threw 72 arrows to score 659 points out of 720 to finish 31st in the qualification round.
He will now take on Mart Oona of Estonia in the second round today.
Among other Bangladesh male participants, Ram Krishna Saha, Tamimul Islam and Hakim Ahmed Rubel were eliminated from the race losing to their respective rivals in the first round of the men’s recurve individual event.
Bangladesh men’s recurve team were placed 14th in the qualification round and will face Spain team in the second round today after getting bye in the first round against Canada.
Meanwhile Bangladesh’s three female competitors Diya Siddique, Mahanaz Akter Monera and Beauty Ray were respectively placed 44th, 55th and 59th in the qualification round of the women’s recurve individual event.
Diya scored 315 while Monera and Beauty scored 311 and 304 points respectively to qualify for the first round.
Meanwhile in the men’s compound individual event, Ashim Kumer Das finished 35th scoring 345 points in the qualification round.
